Nicole Kellogs trio
Ok guys this post is so that it doesn't seem like we're all holos and glitters here at Sparkly Vernis. I do love my complex nail polishes, and I rarely wear lacquers like these. However, once in a while it's refreshing to sit back and appreciate good cremes. I cannot stress how perfect these three were on application and color saturation. Except for the blue one, which temporarily stained my nails horribly (ha!), this set was a win, and it was worth the 4 week waiting time, the code-searching, and frantically eating all that cereal.

Fnug Futuristica is a loud blue holographic nail polish
I got this at one of Llarowe's flash sales for cheap, and I was so glad I did, because they now seem to be out of stock all the time. This is definitely the year of the holos, wouldn't you agree? I have gotten so many, that I'm almost afraid I will get bored of them or get over them, like I did with the chunky indie glitters last year. I really hope not. I am loving and hoarding all of them, I'm actually wearing a holo right now as I type this. I love polishing with loud holos such as this one. I posted a twitter pic, sort of behind the scenes, of how gorgeous it looks when it's under my working lamp. Here are the sunny pictures.

Love, Preview Event
Hey guys, remember that event I was talking about a couple of weeks ago? (here) Well, I attended and I had a lot of fun, but don't take my word for it, join us next year! Sign up for reminders at the bottom of the Love, Preview page (here). The best part about this kind of events is that you get to meet the artists behind the brands and also get to preview stuff that they don't even have in the stores yet; in my case, I found a purple Dandy holo that was not up for sale yet. I also got a Lacquer Lust holo and I completely avoided the restock and crazy refreshing. It was wonderful. You also get to meet other nail polish collectors and great people in the industry. Definitely my favorite part was seeing exclusive nail polishes that were only sold that night. I have included pictures below of Serum No.5 Love, Preview at two coats plus topcoat, this was the exclusive lacquer for that brand. It was an easy to apply dark crelly with lots of gold glitter and blue glow in the dark pigment. I can't wait for the next event.

Darling Diva custom holographic gold
I've been a fan of DDP since its beginnings. A long time ago, I asked DDP creator for a custom lacquer that was basically Stripper Pole (a discontinued? shade) sans the glitter. It did not disappoint. It was everything that I had expected it to be. At the time, there weren't too many holos around, like there are now, and this gold was is really unique in my collection. I was going to post another DDP holo today, but we haven't had sun in a few days, and I'd like to show it in all it's glory. So instead, I leave you with this old-ish swatch that I found in my folders, I hope you guys don't mind. Oh BTW I'll be having a mini-giveaway on Monday, so please stop by!

Shimmer Kim
Disclosure
Kim reminds me a lot of Maria, but with more iridescent glitter. Both shades are similar, but Kim has a lot of those medium blue hexagons, plus some purple specks. I think that they are too similar to justify owning both, to be honest. If I had to pick one, it would be Kim because of the purple accents. The formula on this one was good and it dried fast. Shimmers are a bit gritty, so they do require topcoat, but they are super sparkly, so that definitely makes up for it. This looks like a snowy day over grey (shown first), I liked it so much that I decided to apply it as a background for the blog.
