I think it's called Brilliant because these colors are very bright. I suspect, they have a bit of neon pigment in them, because they behaved as neons both in finish and application. Except for Straight A Coral, they didn't have that glossy look that most Barielles have, and they were a bit thick and tricky to apply. After topcoat, they are perfect and they look great for Summer. Magna Cum Laude Turquoise is a bright cyan blue, looks great after two coats. There is so much to love about this color, the pictures speak for themselves. Straight A Coral was almost a one coater, it reminded me of Chanel Fracas, but this is definitely more red. Smarty Pants Pink was a bubblegum pink or Barbie pink that looked great in almost every light setting. I wanted to dislike it, because I don't need any more pinks, but I honestly love it. Head of the Class Green was a bit problematic for me, it temporarily stained my nails blue, I don't know what pigment is in it, but my nails didn't like it. High Marks Purple was my favorite, this is a great magenta, it is not as purple as I would like it to be, it leans more to pink than I thought, but I still love it. Overall this collection screams Summer, vacation and sunny days, I love the creative names they have too. By the way, Barielle is hosting a Giveaway, check out the details here.
