"First, let me just say what an honor it is to be featured as a guest poster on Sparkly Vernis! Thank you for having me. For this occasion, I wanted to do something special on my nails, so I chose a layering combination that reminds me of my favorite season: Fall.
To create this look, I followed a 'jelly sandwich' layering technique using two of my favorite polishes. First, I applied a coat of Maybelline Juicy Tomato, one of the first jelly polishes I ever owned, and still one of my top favorite jellies of all time. Next, I applied a coat of Jordana Bronze Fest glitter followed by one more coat of Juicy Tomato, a final thin layer of Bronze Fest, and then topped off with a coat of Seche Vite topcoat.
The warm red color of Juicy Tomato combined with the golds, browns and bronzes in Bronze Fest makes me think of all the autumn colors that I love so much. Red, gold and brown leaves falling from the trees, the bright red apples that turn into amber-colored apple cider, and there's even a small amount of orangey-copper glitter in Bronze Fest that reminds me of Halloween pumpkins.
Layering the jelly polish over the first coat of glitter gives the look so much more depth than just layering glitter on top of a creme. The glitter particles underneath the red jelly sparkle and glow like embers, and the final coat of glitter on top showcases all the different shapes, sizes and colors that make up Bronze Fest.
It's nice to have a little reminder of fall on my nails just as we're in the middle of the hot, humid weather of summer. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!"

Layering order:

ReplyDeleteI am warming up to more reds in my old age. The brighter and juicier the better. Perfect name for this polish. Glitter doesn't hurt either ;)
