Pa AA89 is a girly mix of pink and purple glitters

I recently finished documenting my stash, and realized I was missing a couple of Pas.  I ventured to the small Japanese town in my city and hauled some glitters.  I still love this brand, after all of these years, this is what started my glitter obsession.  No other glitter compares to it.  The base that they use is so amazing, that it doesn't need anything to smooth it out, the glitters just lay flat  I just add a thin layer of fast-drying topcoat to make it dry faster.  I like this mix, and the fact that this shade of purple is really unique.  I just wish these were holographic glitters instead of foily.

OPI Tahitian Twilight with blue tips... and my thoughts on nail polish storage

Next to Ponce de Lilac, this is the oldest OPI I own.  Both were hand-me-downs from my Friend K.  This is from 1997 and has a great formula, which proves that nail polish doesn't go bad, if kept in appropriate conditions.  These include, but are not limited to, shaking it periodically (about twice a year), adding thinner when needed (if it gets thick), and away from light and heat.  Most importantly, they should be kept upright, as to avoid goopy bottle necks and 'stuck' caps on the bottles.  I love nail polish displayed on wall racks, but when I see that sometimes, I feel bad for them, because light has an effect on certain pigments, and it may alter or change colors.  Too much light also generates heat.  If you have racks and leave the lights on all day or all night in the Summer, this increases the temperature even more in a room.  Anyhow, I keep mine in drawers and in a couple of over-sized "medicine" cabinets that are built in my apartment.  I have never been a fan of helmers, but they are a good way to keep nail polish away from heat and light.  As long as you care for your collection and give them a shake once in a while, as well as replenishing the thinner as needed, they will last a while, like this OPI.  Back to this mani, I wanted to wear this on its own, but at three coats I still had some VNL, and I felt that it was missing something.  The blue gave it what it needed, and ended up having a great vintage look.

Dance Legend Neptune and Anthem

Disclosure

These two are from the Holodays Collection.  They are linear holorgraphics with some added scattered holographic flakes.  Needless to say, I need more of these, if not all.  The effect is really nice, pretty much what I expected.  Their formula is great, perfect two-coaters, and these two colors are quite interesting.  I've already wore the purple twice this month, which is rare for me.  I couldn't get enough of it.

I Love Nail Polish Royal Rainbow is a navy blue shimmery holographic

This color is really dark.  In some lights it looks black on me.  I love it, maybe I'll wear it again in the Fall.  This is a jelly-esque holographic with blue holographic microglitter.  It does have a linear effect, but it is ever so subtle.  Very interesting.  A friend of mine got it for me on a blog sale, I hear that only 5 of these were made.  It's a real treat, they should bring it back.

Ethereal Lacquer Enamored is a light-blue-leaning purple

This color is so hard to describe, because it's not lilac or periwinkle.  It was almost blue on me in the sun, as the pictures are showing, but in the shade it looked more purple to me.  In the bottle it is very deceiving because it looks like a straight medium purple.  I guess the holographic effect makes it look lighter than it is.

Colors by Llarowe Tequila IV, My Big Girl Panties, Black Gold Texas Tea, Purple Rain and Final Fantasy

Disclosure

Well, no better way to start the week than with some awesome holos (and a shimmery purple).  Tequila IV is a lovely champagne gold.  I think this one is discontinued but it is easy to find in the after market.  I thought this was going to look gold on me, but instead it was beige.  My Big Girl Panties is the periwinkle sister of Paper Moon, this is so holo, it's a must have.  Black Gold Texas Tea is a really dark black, it was almost opaque at one coat.  Purple Rain was a three-coater red toned purple, with some hidden blue shimmer.  This looks dreamy in the bottle, but it doesn't translate to the nails.  Final Fantasy is a shimmery gunmetal grey, very similar to Toxic Avenger.  However, they are not dupes.  There is more shimmer in TA and the color shift is stronger, towards a greenish gold.  I like both, I think Final Fantasy is amazing, and a potential substitute.  I like CbL formula so much, all of these were easy to apply and fast drying.  If I had to pick just one, I'd go with MBGP; well I actually bought a back up.
