Dance Legend Gothic Veil, Bullet for my Valentine, Golden Cobra, Beautiful Lie and Behind the Scenes

Disclosure

I am obsessed with these scattered holos from Dance Legend.  I mentioned before (here) how I like to layer them, but I've gathered on this post all the ones that I have, which look perfect by themselves, at two coats.  The formula on these is great, and the holographic payoff is awesome, and so different from the linear ones.  I love the blurple/periwinkle, Beautiful Lie, it's so bright and cheerful.  This has to be my favorite of all the ones I've tried.  However, Golden Cobra an Gothic Veil are worth checking out as well.  The red ones look pretty similar on me, and I can't justify owning so many alike.  Moreover, to me, red is a warm color and it sort of clashes with the silver flakes.  I only wish that this collection had a holo flakies topcoat that I could layer over them, to make them even more holographic; or I could wear it over cremes and any other nail polish.  Who knows, hopefully, one day.

Orly Ridgefiller Primer Basecoat Review

This will be a short review.  The product does what it is supposed to do.  However, it was really hard to apply, since it is almost an opaque white in one coat.  I could not think of any nail polish that I would use it for, other than for sheer yellows.  However, after I took these pics last week, I have mixed it (frankened this) with my Butter London Foundation, and I love it.  I have been using this mix and it works great, it makes my nails look smoother, and therefore, the topcoat looks glossier.  Equal parts of each of these ridgefillers make a perfect basecoat that hides both Visible Nail Line, and imperfections such as peelies and ridges.  One was too beige, not opaque enough, and the other was too white and too opaque, but together they are a perfect blend.  If you can work with tricky formulas, I still suggest to give this one a try by itself.  It might be worth it, perhaps for this season's neons, as well as other sheers.

OPI DS Signature is an old school pink holographic

How about an oldie for this lazy Wednesday?  This one is my Mom's favorite DS, and I don't blame her, because she probably grew up with this shade of pink as one of the few options to lacquers.  I know that when I was a kid, I used to dig through my mom's "stash" and I used to be annoyed at this type of color being duped (repeated) in so many finishes, and brands.  Now, it just screams nostalgia when I look at it.

Bear Pawlish Lavender Kisses is a strong holographic purple

Here is a newish indie brand to watch out for.  I ordered a couple, and I want more.  I'm not sure if I'll swatch Ultra Violet, since it's one of those purples that no matter what you do it will look blue in pictures, but we'll see.  This one is gorgeous, it has a really nice flame, and at the same time it seems to have a subtle hue.  It reminded me of Ethereal Pixie Dust a bit.  I can't get enough of purple holos :)

Ethereal Veiled is a good Holographic Topcoat for Duochromes

I have been looking for a good topcoat that only provides sparks of holographic flecks over multichromes and duochromes, instead of covering the whole nail and dimming the color-shifting effect.  I think this one is pretty good at doing just that.  Unfortunately, it wasn't holographic enough for me.  I am also looking for one that will make white cremes holographic without graying them out.  I tried to see if this one could do that, but it turned the white creme into a green/greyish tinted white.  The pictures don't show that to much, but it was noticeable in real life.  I'm not too sad that this didn't work so well.  After all, the thrill of the hunt is half of the fun.

Liquid Sky Lacquer Twilight Peacock is a teal to blue to purple multichrome/holographic beauty

This one looks very metallic in pictures, but it's actually quite nice in real life.  The color-shifting effect is superb.  The holographic effect is wonderful as well.  I wouldn't expect less from LSL, they have yet to disappoint me.  As a bonus, this is a perfect two-coater.  This is definitely better than EP MMT; the shift is better, and the holographic effect is stronger.
