Rainbow Honey FAB Summer Set

Disclosure

This is a mini collection that is only available here.  I really liked Costa del Sol, no surprises here, the glitter in this set was my favorite.  The other two are not something I would wear, but they were good in application and had a nice shimmer to them.  Tenda is a bright creme (described as kelly green) which is in between lime and shamrock.  It's hard to describe, but these pictures are pretty accurate, it's almost neon, and a perfect two-coater.  Schrammi is orange on me, although in the pictures and from the swatches I've seen, it looks more coral.  I don't know what is in these two nail polishes, but they dry super fast.  Great for those days when you are in a hurry.  I really think Costa del Sol looks better over other colors, not over Tenda or Schrammi, so here I've swatched it over a bright blue.  Costa del sol was a little bit thick and tricky to apply, nothing that thinner can't fix.  If you love gold glitter, this is definitely a must-have.

Shimmer Glass Review

Disclosure

I've been using this for a while, not sure if you can tell from the pics that the bottle is about 80% full.  I wanted to try it in several settings before the review.  I found that this is great for smoothing out glitters and taking pictures!  It is not glossy, so when I take the pictures I don't get a glare.  Therefore, it is perfect for my Shimmer swatches.  In fact, lately I've been using it for most of them, you can check the Layering Order.  The finish is somewhat rubbery, so I wouldn't recommend it for cremes.  In these pics I did use a creme so that you can see it better.  Unfortunately, it doesn't dry fast, so I wouldn't rely solely on this as a topcoat.  Like I said, it smooths out the gritty (sandpaper) feel of glitters, so that is mainly what I would use it for.  Worth checking it out, because it is non-thickening and most importantly, non-shrinking edit: it is now shrinking in the Summer, as of 8/6/13.  It retails for $10 so if you are already paying $8 or so for Gelous, it's definitely worth a try.  A word of advice, it doesn't play nice with Hong Kong Girl Topcoat, but I've tried it with Seche Vite, Poshe, Deborah Lippmann, Barielle, and other topcoats and it was great.

Barielle Summer Brights Collection

Disclosure

This collection is so girly.  It includes two pinks: Cosmic Kiss, the obligate Summer pink and Pink Flip-Flops, a light sandal-ready pink.  I liked Flip-Flops better with glitter, so I chose to do a reverse gradient, and it made it even more girly.  It also includes a stunning green, I was shocked to see how much I liked Sweet Addiction.  Again, a very girl/womanly color.  I don't wear too much greens, but this one is so worth checking out; my nails looked very sophisticated and effortlessly chic.  Lemondrops was ok, I thought it was going to be a two-coater, and for a yellow that's big, but it was three easy coats instead.  Blue Capri is super pretty, an almost blurple blue.  This one, although not advertised this way, is a color changing nail polish.  When you add topcoat, it mutates into a royal blue.  I have showed it here without topcoat, but you can see the cool effect of Wacky Laki's swatches here.  Overall, the formula was great on all of them.  My favorite was Sweet Addiction, it won me over because it is a one-coater.  I love how Barielle saves us time with these sets, all of their sets are no-brainers.  There is no need to spend an hour thinking which nail lacquers to take on your vacation trip, just toss these in your luggage and go, there is sure to be one color for every occasion.

Elevation Marmolada, a crelly with round glitter

Marmolada is a very unique chunky glitter.  I love the name and the color.  It is a blue-toned grey, very jelly-esque.  My favorite are the small purple glitters in it.  It is super packed with round glitters of different sizes, very up my alley.  I do think it needs a little bit more topcoat, here I did 1 coat, but like I said, it is chunky so it would probably benefit from two coats.  BTW good news: no curling here (yet).
