Two Birds Hallow's Eve Duo

Hey guys! typing this while almost closing my eyes.  I've been so busy lately, as you might have read, and so I decided to keep up the blog from monday to friday.  By eliminating Saturdays for now, I'm hoping I can keep up for these 2 months and not sacrifice quality.  On this note, ignore my attempt at the ghost on the accent nail, I must not try nail art while tired >.<  These lovelies are from a fellow Blogger who has followed me from the beginning: See Sarah Swatch.  I was so happy when she sent me these for review, and I was quite honored as well.  She makes such gorgeous frankens.  I've been eying them since I've followed her blog.  You must check out her blog here.  This duo was made for Halloween, which is why I wanted to post it today.  Who Ya Gonna Call? is awesome in color, it's a true grey, which does not lean to blue or green.  It's not easy for me to find a good grey, something about my skintone always makes them look off.  It's a bit thick in formula, definitely creamy.  I don't know if I like the matte glitters in it, I really wish the blue ones were more sparkly, to be honest.  I do like the black ones in it, they look very bold.  Something Wicked was also thick (I think they might need thinner, although I wanted to show them to you as they came), but this one has a really nice jelly look after topcoat.  Gorgeous color, like strawberry jam with the seeds? yeah, this one looked almost edible.  I liked the fact that they were both two-coaters, and the coverage was excelent, but they could both use some tweaking on the formula.  I haven't tried the other Two Birds she sent, but they all look amazing.  The best part is, she sells mini and full size bottles, so if you want to sample these, you can always choose the minis.  Click here to like Two Birds on Facebook.

Serum No. 5 Holiday 2012 Collection

Yes lovelies! we are already starting to talk about Holiday Collections, because December is just around the corner, and honestly I wish it came faster.  This is a mini collection from Serum No. 5, that will be available on Thursday, November 1st, at 3:00 p.m. PDT.  The first one, Starry Nights is hard to describe, it is a shimmery blue with holographic microglitter and a purple/lilac tint that just peaks out in certain lights, very interesting.  It's packed with stars, no "fishing" required.  This one reminded me of the shimmery ones from the second collection, which I loved.  Girl's BFF is the silver version of Girl's Gotta Eat from the first collection, this one is sheer, so it can double as a layering nail polish as well.  I think it would make a great glitter topper for X-mas.  Thanks for the Memories is a black and white glitter that I had shown you before, it is now available for purchase.  Happy Special Day is the best one, to me, I love the name, the formula and the glitter mix.  I usually don't like too much white glitter, but this is just perfect.  It has the perfect balance between holiday party colors and regular colors.  I may be biased because of the gorgeous purple glitters in it, definitely more noticeable in real life.  I liked the formula on all the lacquers from this collection, pretty consistent.  They all had a good amount of glitter, and drying time was great.  Like I said, mini collection, only four nail polishes, leaving me wanting more =) To stay in the know, follow Serum No. 5 on Facebook or Tumblr.  Did you know that 20% of all profits from the sales of Serum No. 5 nail polishes go towards a charitable donation? you can see the ones that were already made here.

Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh is awesome for Halloween

This nail polish has the most accurate name for it.  Wow! it's only 5 more days until Halloween, I really can't believe it.  Time just flew by.  I wish I had more time to do fun manicures like this one.  By this time, last year, I remember had done spiderwebs, candy corn, GITD ghosts and pumpkin nails.  This year has been hectic.  I hope I can come up with something as awesome as those.  For now, here's what I got.

2 coats Missha HGR01 (ring only)
Deborah Lippmann Waking Up In Vegas (wrist bones)

Emily de Molly Milky Way over Pahlish Train Underwater makes my nails look like denim

This was another one of those accidental layerings.  I had tried it before with the same glitter (Milky Way) on top of a gold fleck (Zoya Mimi), and I liked it a lot.  It made it look like purple jeans, or some weird texturized purple fabric.  Too bad I don't have pictures to show you.  I thought it was a great way to wear this, because by itself it's too sheer and over cremes it's too predictable.  As much as I love Milky Way and EdM (Emily de Molly), I was a bit peeved that it had curing glitter in it; as I had gotten it all the way from Australia, by the way thanks to the Amazing Claire, who helped me.  Good thing Llarowe will start carrying this brand, and now the wait should be less.  But anyhow, I waited 6 weeks for curling glitter, not sure if you can notice it or not in the pictures.  Overall, I like the brand,  her concepts, I mean I like this glitter enough that I wore it twice.  However, this is one of those times where I was disappointed by indies.  Because think about it, *rambles* what can I do about it? return it? to Australia, really? ha! get $$ back? get the money from 6 weeks ago (now 2 months ago)? I already forgot about the money; and to be honest, it's not about the money.  Complain? leave neutral feedback? no, coconut man... Blog about it? heck yeah.

Shimmer Vicky

Pink Wednesday? I almost never follow the pink Wednesday tradition.  This one is for a great cause though: "Vicki is a wonderful mother and survivor of breast cancer, this polish is made to encourage and support the fight against this disease! Donations will be made to support Breast Cancer Research!"  That was taken from the Shimmer store, where Vicky is sold.  I was glad that this one had a tinted base, because it was perfect for that quick accent nail.

Wet n Wild Once Upon a Time is not too "spooky"

Except for the bottle, I really don't see how this red glitter is halloweenish.  I was going to do a "spooky"layering combination with these two Halloween nail polishes, but it turned out to look christmasy instead.  I had no idea that China Glaze Make a Spectacle was going to be so green.  This is spectacular though (no pun intended), it has so much shimmer in it.  Now, I am not sure if the shimmer is gold that leans to green or the other way around, but it is gorgeous.  China Glaze did good with this year's Halloween colex.  I was already impressed with Glitter Goblin, and now this glitter totally surprised me with the shimmer in it.  I might need to check out the others in the collection.
