Rainbow Honey The Yokai Collection

If you like supernatural Japanese creatures, you'll probably love the theme of this collection.  Kawako is a an almost metallic navy blue that has flakies similar to Celestia.  These made the nail polish look a bit bumpy in real life, even after topcoat, and you can see it in the pictures below as well.  The color was great, however.  Oni is fabulous, packed with micro-flakies that shift color slightly between gold and pink in a darkened base.  I love the fact that it is a two-coater, like the other two.  The application for Oni was the smoothest and easiest out of the three.  I've added orange zwarovski crystals (rhinestones) to an accent nail, to see how it would look as a Halloween combination.  I think this one is perfect for the season.  Kitsune is a creamy neutral shade, very shimmery, with red accents.  I love this one because it's the glittery one.  Unfortunately, this one was thick and did not self-level very well, I am hoping to add thinner to improve the application next time.  I'm thinking this one is a little chameleon and it will look very different on different skin tones, because I was surprised that it was yellow-ish on Dizzy Nails (see swatch here) while it was pink-ish on me.  I like this about neutrals, I want to test it in different lights to see what other shades I get.  This trio can be found on their website while supplies last, because it's a limited edition collection.  Definitely check out the other glitters they have while you're there.  The official launch date for the yokai is October 13.

  3. Kitsune looks so pretty on you!! That is quite a difference - by chance do you have warm/yellow undertones in your skin? My undertone is pink. In any case, it looks great on both of us, so that's good. :) Lovely pictures, as always. xoxo
